Day & Zimmermann ECM President Michael McMahon Elected to Nuclear Energy Institute Board

PHILADELPHIA, PA—May 12, 2011— Day & Zimmermann, a nationally recognized provider of industrial, defense and workforce solutions for government and commercial customers, is pleased to announce that Michael P. McMahon, President of Day & Zimmermann’s Engineering, Construction and Maintenance (ECM) group, has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) Board of Directors. 

NEI is the policy organization of the nuclear energy and technologies industry and participates in both the national and global policy-making process.  The purpose of NEI is to foster and encourage the continued safe utilization and development of nuclear energy to meet the nation’s energy, environmental and economic goals.

“Being elected to NEI’s board is a tremendous honor, and it is wonderful recognition for Day & Zimmermann’s contributions to the nuclear industry,” Mr. McMahon said when told of his election.  “I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board to help the NEI deliver on its mission to ensure the formation of policies that promote the acceptance and recognition of nuclear energy’s role in supplying safe, secure, dependable and economical electricity.”

Mr. McMahon has more than 35 years of experience in all phases of maintenance and construction project execution, spanning nuclear and fossil power, as well as industrial sectors.  Prior to his current position, he was president of Day & Zimmermann's Power Services business.  He has also served as president of Day & Zimmermann NPS®, as well as vice president of business development and executive vice president of operations for this division.  Mr. McMahon holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Drexel University and has completed graduate coursework at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Results of NEI’s elections were announced at the 2011 Nuclear Energy Assembly in Washington, D.C.
