Day & Zimmermann Recognized by Forbes as One of “America’s Best Employers for Diversity in 2024”

PHILADELPHIA, PA., May 8, 2024 — Day & Zimmermann, the century-old, family-owned provider of construction, engineering, maintenance, staffing and defense solutions for leading corporations and governments around the world, secured a spot on Forbes' 2024 list of America's Best Employers for Diversity. This recognition highlights Day & Zimmermann's strong commitment to workforce development and employee engagement practices that promote diversity.

The list, which was produced by Forbes and market research firm Statista, featured 500 U.S-based employers that excel in demonstrating a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. The Best Employers for Diversity 2024 were identified in an independent survey from a sample of over 170,000 U.S.-based employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people within the U.S.

One of the key mechanisms through which we hear the voice of our employees is our bi-annual engagement surveys. These surveys, complemented by annual pulse checks, allow us to dive-deep by truly listening to our team's experiences and monitoring our progress by comparing outcomes with industry peers and similar large organizations.

To reinforce our values, we established the Executive Diversity & Inclusion Board (EDIB), a dedicated enterprise-wide leadership group that coordinates and implements DEI across the entire organization with three goals in mind: learning, living and leading in the diversity, equity and inclusion space for our employees, clients and communities.

Regina Blair, our VP of Employee Experience & DEI, emphasizes how our diverse team members reinforce this foundation. This is a direct result of the leadership efforts and support across our organization.

Another way we foster a sense of community and belonging is through our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). D&Z’s seven ERGs provide safe spaces for employees from diverse cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds to celebrate their identities, raise crucial issues, and find support. Open to all employees, our ERGs, which regularly host timely events and meaningful webinars, are the heart of our DEI efforts.
