Kathleen King Promoted to SVP, Finance and Chief Financial Officer

It’s my pleasure to announce that effective April 1st, 2023, Kathleen King has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This follows the retirement of Joe Ritzel who will remain as a part-time consultant to me and Kathleen. She will also continue to lead our corporate development efforts, managing strategy, mergers and acquisitions and government affairs for the enterprise as she has since 2021. All other finance and corporate development reporting structures stay the same.

Kathleen continues to report directly to me and continues as a member of the D&Z Leadership Council (LC). I’m excited for her to lead our finance team as the first female CFO in the company’s history, and for the knowledge and experience she brings with 24 years with the company. She has worked in many different parts of the company, including her operational role at Yoh, and for several years in corporate development, managing strategy and acquisitions. She will work with Joe Ritzel as he retires and will have his counsel and insight to ensure a smooth transition. I’m confident in her abilities and vision as we continue to move Day & Zimmermann forward.

Kathleen joined the company in 1999 and has supported multiple groups and business units, getting her start in the finance area. She held a series of positions with increasing management and oversight responsibility for the finance function of the company’s SOC business unit, and prior to that, she held the position of vice president, controller, for the Munitions and Government group. In 2015 she was named vice president of corporate development, and in 2019, she joined the Yoh group as senior vice president, enterprise solutions, and was responsible for all operations for a large portfolio of Yoh’s total talent solutions business, which provided Managed Staffing Provider (MSP) Services, National Accounts and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) services globally. In 2021, she launched the company’s Total Talent Solutions brand, DZConneX.

Kathleen holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management from Park University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina.

Please join me in congratulating Kathleen as she begins this new role.
