Key leaders from Day & Zimmermann and the U.S. Army were interviewed following a ribbon cutting ceremony at Day & Zimmermann’s munitions plant in Parsons, Kansas, on April 8.

The ceremony marked the commissioning of D&Z’s new M795 artillery production line.

KOAM News Now, an affiliate of CBS and Fox News, reported on the commissioning of the new line and the impact it will have on the community. The segment aired in the region and featured highlights of the event, along with comments from D&Z Chair and CEO Hal Yoh, D&Z Munitions President John McGuiness, U.S. Army Major General John T. Reim, and Parsons Mayor Kevin Cruse. You can watch the video here for the full story.

koam“When Russia invaded Ukraine, there was really one facility in the nation that produced M795 rounds that you see here today,” McGuiness explained in the interview. “You don’t want a single point of failure, so the Army invested $36 million [to build this new line].”

“I’ve got a modern production capability adding capacity to our ecosystem,” said U.S. Army Major General Reim in the article. “Our goal is 100,000 rounds per month, and this adds to that goal — providing an additional 12,000 rounds per month.”
