The D&Z Gives Back program, launched in the beginning of 2023, empowers D&Z employees to identify causes that are important to them and support their local communities in meaningful ways. A cause that resonates with our community, our business, and its values is the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Making Strides is a 5K charity walk to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and their mission to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Last October, D&Z’s Women's Resource Group, Multicultural Resource Group and Young Professionals Resource Group partnered through D&Z Gives Back to spearhead our second annual participation in this initiative. Last year, we surpassed our goal of $10,000 by raising $10,965. This year, we increased our goal to $15,000.
D&Z employees, along with their families and friends, participated in various walks around the country, sponsoring teams, and making financial contributions. Fundraising efforts began in August and D&Z’s project team raised awareness through company communications, contests, surveys, breast cancer stories, social media posts, photo submissions, and more.
Together, the D&Z community raised an incredible $28,794 in support of the American Cancer Society’s ongoing work. This total includes a $5,000 contribution from Day & Zimmermann.
Day & Zimmermann is truly humbled and impressed by the efforts of our community, and we look forward to participating in more events like this in the future. The 2022 Making Strides fundraiser represents one of the largest fundraising efforts undertaken by Day & Zimmermann to date, and it is an incredible example of what we aspire to achieve with our D&Z Gives Back program.
