Day & Zimmermann Awarded Contract for Hawthorne Army Depot Operations, Maintenance and Modernization

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — June 26, 2026 — Day & Zimmermann (D&Z) announced today that it has been awarded a $2,301,227,487 firm-fixed-price contract by the U.S. Army for the operation, maintenance, and modernization of Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD), Joint Munitions Command’s largest joint storage depot in Hawthorne, Nevada.

The contract includes demilitarization of specified families of ammunition, and execution of 14 additional work statements, all critical support functions including safety, security, fire and emergency services, environmental management, information technology, occupational health, and government property management. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 29, 2046.

The award marks a return to Hawthorne for Day & Zimmermann, whose history with the depot spans more than four decades. D&Z first began supporting the mission at Hawthorne in the mid-20th century, helping establish the facility as a cornerstone of the nation's conventional munitions enterprise, and a vital economic engine for the surrounding community.

"For Day & Zimmermann, this is a homecoming," said Hal Yoh, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Day & Zimmermann. "For more than 40 years, our people served this mission with pride. I have seen firsthand the dedication of the workforce, the importance of the depot to our national defense, and the enduring partnership between Day & Zimmermann, the Army and the Hawthorne community. We are proud to continue that legacy and help write its next chapter."

The company will leverage its extensive experience managing complex government operations, ammunition logistics, depot services and demilitarization programs to support the Army's mission requirements while investing in workforce development, modernization and long-term operational sustainability.

"Hawthorne pride runs deep for D&Z, as it has long been part of our company's story," said Doug Magee, President of Government Services. "We are honored to return and continue

supporting the Army's critical readiness mission with the same commitment to safety, operational excellence and partnership that has defined our work for generations."
