Day Zimmermann Participates in the Business Roundtable 2016 Sustainability Report

PHILADELPHIA, PA –April 25, 2016 – Day & Zimmermann (D&Z), the century-old, family-owned provider of construction & engineering, staffing and defense solutions for leading corporations and governments around the world, is pleased to announce that the company is one of 133 businesses nationwide selected in the Business Roundtable 2016 Sustainability Report.

Entitled “Create, Grow, Sustain: People and Technology at Work,” the report features narratives about how companies have invested significant time and effort into sustainable economic growth and a cleaner environment in the United States as well as overseas. The report includes a letter from Harold L. Yoh, Chairman and CEO of Day & Zimmermann, outlining the company’s commitment to being environmental stewards and bettering sustainable solutions for their customers, employees and the world. The letter highlights the significance of Day & Zimmermann’s workforce playing a large role in making the company greener.

Corporate social responsibility and sustainably plays a major role at D&Z. The company works with leading utility companies to reduce their impact on their environment and comply with regulatory requirements. In their architectural and engineering services, D&Z uses the certification system, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED).  

The letter also outlines examples from several of the company business units. D&Z’s government services, focuses on economical and environmentally friendly ammunition disposal. In addition, D&Z works closely with the Department of Defense to safely remove material potentially presenting an explosive hazards and munitions and explosives of concern. Across all business units and locations, there are regular discussions for implementing alternative green tactics. Protecting the environment is one of the most important ways D&Z can help grow and improve the diverse business landscape for future generations.
