Day & Zimmermann Awarded Four-Year Maintenance and Modification Contract with Nebraska Public Power District

Extends 11-Year Relationship Between Day & Zimmermann and NPPD 

PHILADELPHIA, PA — June 22, 2015 —   Day & Zimmermann (D&Z), the century-old, family-owned provider of construction and engineering, staffing and defense solutions for leading corporations and governments around the world, announced today that its Engineering, Construction & Maintenance group has been awarded a four-year contract to provide maintenance and modification services for the Nebraska Public Power District at the Cooper Nuclear Station in southeast Nebraska.  Day & Zimmermann has now been under contract with NPPD for the last 11 years.

NPPD is Nebraska’s largest electric utility, serving 600,000 people with a diverse mix of generating facilities, including nuclear, coal, wind, and hydro.  Cooper Nuclear Station is the largest single-unit facility in the state.  It has a capacity of 810 megawatts and accounts for approximately 30% of NPPD’s generation resources.
