Day & Zimmermann Appoints Industry Veteran Bill Hickman Vice President of Nuclear Operations for TVA Contract

Philadelphia, PA—October 11, 2013— Day & Zimmermann (D&Z), the century-old, family-owned provider of construction and engineering, staffing and defense solutions for leading corporations and governments around the world, announced today the appointment of Bill Hickman as Vice President of Nuclear Operations for its contract with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).

In this role, Hickman will be responsible for oversight and execution of D&Z’s work at TVA’s three nuclear facilities. TVA, a corporation owned by the U.S. government, provides electricity for nine million people in parts of seven southeastern states.

Hickman has more than 25 years of power industry experience and a strong background working with operating utilities. Prior to joining D&Z, Hickman spent more than four years with TVA as Vice President of Industrial Services.  His industry experience also includes 10 years with Progress Energy in various leadership roles in the construction division and 10 years managing work at Carolina Power & Light’s Brunswick Nuclear Plant. 

Hickman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Mount Olive College in North Carolina.
