Joseph J. Ucciferro of Day & Zimmermann Recognized with National Safety Council's Flame of Life Award

Philadelphia, Pa.—October 18, 2010— Day & Zimmermann, a nationally recognized provider of industrial, defense and workforce solutions for government and commercial customers, today announced that Joseph J. Ucciferro, retired president and CEO of the company’s Commercial and Public Sector Businesses and outgoing National Safety Council (NSC) chairman of the board, was honored with the NSC Flame of Life Award.

The National Safety Council is a nonprofit, nongovernmental, public service organization whose mission is to “educate and influence people to prevent accidental injury and death.” As only the third recipient of the Flame of Life Award, Ucciferro joins an elite group of safety leaders. According to Janet Froetscher, NSC president and CEO, Joe was recognized for his leadership in focusing the Council on workplace safety, off-the-job safety, teen driving and distracted driving issues.
