Day & Zimmermann Recognizes Suppliers with Annual Award

Four companies take home honors

PHILADELPHIA—APRIL 22, 2015---Day & Zimmermann, the century-old, family-owned company specializing in construction and engineering, staffing and defense for leading corporations and governments, today announced the winners of its Supplier of the Year and Diversity Supplier of the Year Awards recognizing outstanding supplier service and supplier diversity from 2014.

Our annual award, now 15 years strong, was developed to recognize suppliers that contribute to the Company’s ability to provide high quality service to our customers.  All of this year’s award recipients are first time winners.  The winners are:

Suppliers of the Year:

  • Tate Metalworks, Inc.
  • Telco Holdings, Inc.

Diversity Suppliers of the Year:

  • Aspen Technical Staffing, Inc.
  • Tri Tool

“At Day & Zimmermann, we know the role our suppliers play is an important one in helping us meet the needs of our clients.” said Jim Emerick, VP of Supply Chain. “We take great pride in establishing relationships with our suppliers and are pleased to acknowledge their contributions to our success with the Supplier of the Year awards.”

Tate Metalworks, Inc. is being recognized for their unparalleled coordination and collaboration with our ECM team on a key client project. Tate’s flexibility was a critical component of ECM’s ability to complete the project.

Telco Holdings, Inc. works with Day & Zimmermann at the corporate level to provide analysis and design implementation of voice and data network services. Telco’s attention to detail resulted in a cost reduction of 40 percent.

“A Day & Zimmermann core value is ‘Diversity’.  This is a focus of ours across the entire Company—from personnel to suppliers to customers. We also believe in ‘Betterment’ - the concept that continuous improvement is critical to sustainable success. The companies we recognize for the Diversity Suppliers of the Year embody both of these essential characteristics,” said Emerick.

Aspen Technical Staffing has been working with our YOH team since 2009. Aspen achieved their award in recognition of their ability to provide support from invoicing to recruiting.  The company is women-owned and has recently been awarded additional work with us.

Tri Tool, a veteran-owned company, has consistently delivered results above expectations during its tenure working with our ECM team.  We are proud to say that Tri Tool has proven to be an integral part of the ECM business unit’s growth over the years.

Established in 1989, the Supplier of the Year Annual Award program is limited to those suppliers where the dollar volume of business for the year has been at least $100,000 ($50,000 for Diversity Supplier of the Year) or where the supplier provides a unique service critical to our business.
