Day & Zimmermann Expands Military Construction Services with ECI Construction Acquisition

Day & Zimmermann to integrate ECI Construction with its Mason & Hanger unit, strengthening their full-service design/build capabilities and extensive experience with U.S. military projects

Philadelphia, Pa.—October 9, 2007— Day & Zimmermann, a nationally recognized provider of products and outsourcing solutions for government and commercial customers, today announced that its Engineering & Field Services division has acquired ECI Construction Inc. in Overland Park, KS. The deal combines the significant design and construction expertise of Day & Zimmermann's Mason & Hanger business with ECI's general contracting skills to create an integrated full-service design/build firm focused on serving the U.S. military. The ECI facility, based in Overland Park, KS, will remain fully operational.

"ECI's integration with Mason & Hanger perfectly positions us to further capitalize on the military's growing preference for contracting companies who provide a full spectrum of services," says Mick McAreavy, President, Engineering & Field Services for Day & Zimmermann. "Combining both firms' successful track records with federal projects will only strengthen our military portfolio, and help us meet the evolving needs of our key customer. Furthermore, maintaining ECI's current location will help fulfill Day & Zimmermann's desire to expand geographically. And now with access to the great talent and booming marketplace in Kansas City, we fully anticipate taking our business to the next level."

ECI Construction has managed over $400 million in construction costs while successfully completing more than 100 projects at installations such as McConnell AFB, KS, Ft. Bragg, NC, Marine Corp Air Station, Beaufort, SC, Sheppard AFB, TX, Luke Air Force Base, AZ and many others. The company's employees will benefit from increased career opportunities as the combined company will be able to secure larger contracts.  ECI will assume the Mason & Hanger name at the end of 2007.

Mason & Hanger, currently celebrating its 180th year in business, is headquartered in Lexington, KY and offers a wide variety of services including architecture, interior design, engineering and construction management.
