Business Challenge

Mission essential maintenance for vehicles and equipment -- that’s the focus for the members of the Forward Support Battalion at Fort Stewart. Prior to 2008, they were operating out of remotely located, deteriorated and insufficient facilities in the west wing of the garrison area of Ft. Stewart.

Results

With the design and construction of new facilities the TVMF is more centrally located and includes:

• 47,475 square foot vehicle maintenance facility
• 8,084 square foot company operations facility
• 1,030 square foot oil storage building
• 250,000-gallon elevated water tank  

Today, the Forward Support Battalion supports the troops’ vehicle and equipment needs from the new maintenance facility that includes large bays with maintenance pits, parts warehouse, repair and storage areas, hardstand areas and supporting facilities.

The company operations facility includes private and open offices, conference room, NBC storage area, vault, secure storage, and remote area with locker rooms and dock / loading area.

Further validating the company’s focus on safety, this project received a USACE Safety Award.
