Neat Resin Packaging
Business Challenge
To support the client’s logistic requirements due to growth in the nylon pellet market the Global Delivery Project was designed to package neat resin at 150MAR with design considerations included that will enable future expansion to 400MAR. Services Provided
Day & Zimmermann provided engineering, procurement, construction and construction management for the Global Delivery Project. The project was challenged with performing construction within an operating facility. Coordination between engineering, construction and the client was paramount to successfully executing the project. To support the new pack-out area, infrastructure improvements had to be made. Included were two (2) new truck docks, inside storage space for packaging material, space heating and cooling, and fire protection upgrades. To provide space necessary for equipment installation and storage facilities, unused and/or abandoned equipment was removed. In addition, some existing facilities, including maintenance shops, offices, rest rooms, and storage cages were also removed or modified. Results
To accommodate increased production from the Neat Resin Projects higher production rates for packaging was achieved. The team executed the project safely, within schedule, and with excellent quality at startup. The successful completion of this project will be a major contributor to the award of the next phase of the project.
