Day & Zimmermann Named a Top Green Design Firm by ENR

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—August 31, 2010—Day & Zimmermann, a nationally recognized provider of industrial, defense and workforce solutions for government and commercial customers, announced it has been named as a Top Green Design Firm by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Magazine.

Mason & Hanger, a division of Day & Zimmermann, is responsible for a majority of the company’s “green” work, with customers including the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. Sustainable design projects undertaken by the company include alternative transportation support systems, water efficient landscaping, water use reduction methods, energy performance optimization, and construction waste management.

“To make this list for the first time is a great achievement for us,” said Ted Daniels, President of Mason & Hanger. “This accomplishment reflects the primary focus of Mason & Hanger, which is to help our customers achieve sustainable results, and therefore truly make a difference for future generations.”

ENR’s annual list is based on design revenue from registered sustainable projects. The magazine noted a 16.8% increase in revenue from green projects across the firms on this year’s list, from $2.85 billion in 2008 to $3.33 billion in 2009.
